The Book of Esther is a revelation of God's providence - the way He works behind the scenes to preserve His people in times of peril. The name Esther means "a star" - a star which shown brightly for the Jewish people. God prepared the way for her into the heart of a king. She would save a nation - God's chosen people - for she was purposely placed "for such a time as this."
